Lindsey and her accessories were only available for one year from 2001 through 2002. She was the first in a series of limited edition dolls offered by American Girl. Although highly popular today in the secondary market, Lindsey's sales were slow and eventually American Girl gave up on selling her and gave them away to employees and charity organizations in 2003-2004. Now, sellers in the secondary market are making clones and rewigging other dolls in order to meet the high collector demand of the product. Your Lindsey doll has curly auburn hair and bright blue eyes that open and close. She arrives dressed in a sporty green T-shirt and a khaki skirt. Her hooded sweater has contrasting stripes at the cuffs that match her colorful striped tights. Lindsey wears red ankle boots and a beaded bobby pin to hold back her bangs. She comes with a Lindsey paperback book.
